Bradie James’ motivation to beat the Detroit Lions goes way beyond the obvious. James, Dallas’ defensive captain, wants to send the Lions to their fifth-straight loss to also teach quarterback Jon Kitna a lesson. James is taking the game personally because of what he said were “classless” comments Kitna made in January after the Lions upset the Cowboys 39-31 in the regular-season finale. In an interview with a Seattle radio station a few days after the game, Kitna was asked to give Seahawks fans a playoff preview of the Dallas defense.
Kitna, who began his career in Seattle, was happy to oblige, although he prefaced his comments by saying, “I have to be careful what I say because we play them again next year.” Kitna then went on to say James was basically inept.
